GQUAL at ECLAC’s XIII Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean

Side-Event: Towards gender parity in international representation

The event will be an opportunity to present the GQUAL campaign and the issue of underrepresentation of women in monitoring bodies and international tribunals, within the context of the Regional Conference of Women in Latin America and the Caribbean. Additionally, the space will be used to open a discussion on the different experiences had by States that have signed on to GQUAL as well as foster an exchange of ideas on why it is necessary to link gender parity in international representation with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and the Regional Gender Action Plan.

FORMAT:  A presentation of the campaign will be followed by a moderated panel discussion.
